Original Botanical illustrations
To keep the intensity and detail of the drawing, only live plant specimens, not photos, are used to produce an accurate illustration of the subject matter. The first stage is to do a completed drawing in graphite pencil, then the subject is lightly shaded in a pale background colour and built up using coloured pencils to intensify the colour from the working drawing, as shown below, to the finished illustration.
Below is my standard silver frame it is 1 1/8” wide by 5/8” deep, it has a slight two tone appearance, but is quite neutral and as such blends in with most decor. Bespoke frames of course can be made to order
